I have had the pleasure to work as a Teaching Assistant at Umeå University department of Computer Science, where I am teaching and tutoring practical interaction design.
A large part of my teaching centers on using practical tools like Figma to implement theoretical knowledge in actual work— helping students build confidence with the tool while encouraging strong design logic. I teach them how to work with grids, components, interaction flows, and documentation, always tying the practical skills back to user experience goals and accessibility principles.
I also bring my background in accessible and inclusive design into the lectures, introducing students to key concepts like universal design, inclusive design, and crip theory. We explore the differences between compliance and perspective shift, and I encourage norm-critical thinking in user research and design decisions. Helping students understand the social, political, and ethical dimensions of interface design has become one of the most meaningful aspects of my role as a TA.
